Gaston County hotels raked in an extra $178K in revenue from NBA All-Star Weekend earlier this month.
While the NBA All-Star festivities took place in Charlotte from Thursday, Feb. 14 to Sunday, Feb. 17, some fans opted to save some money by staying a short distance down the road across 18 hotels in Gastonia, Belmont and Mount Holly.

With the recent opening of the Hilton Garden Inn Gastonia, Gaston County’s hospitality industry grows to a total of 19 hotels, with a combined 1,471 guestrooms. Although adding a property for the first time in nearly a decade is exciting news, the real benefit is that we broadened our destination appeal by incorporating a larger meetings venue into our profile that allows us to serve a previously untapped group meetings market.
Summer Tourism Climbs in Gaston County

In the past five years, over 1.7 million hotel rooms have booked in Gaston County, and, not surprisingly, summer is historically the strongest season.

Sytz Trail System great addition to Warlick Y

The Warlick Family YMCA, which opened late last year, offers its members a host of amenities including two large indoor pools, a plethora of different exercise machines, fitness classes of all kinds, and an outstanding view of Robinwood Lake from just about anywhere in the building.
A great addition to all of that was made in late August, however, with the official opening of the Sytz Trail System in the woods just to the east of the sparkling new facility and its lake.
